Critical Language Scholarship Program

The Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) Program offers intensive summer language institutes overseas in critical need foreign languages locations. CLS institutes provide fully-funded group-based intensive language instruction and structured cultural enrichment experiences for seven to ten weeks for U.S. citizen undergraduate, Master’s and Ph.D. students.

The program is not associated with MSU Denver.  Students apply directly to CLS.  While the program does not offer academic credit, you can work with a study abroad advisor to see if there is any possibility to be granted Metro State credit for the program.

CLS is a program by the United States Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. The selection process will be administered by the Council of American Overseas Research Centers (CAORC) with awards approved by the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. The CLS Program will be administered by CAORC and American Councils for International Education.
