Peace and Justice Conference

Call for Proposals

Peace & Justice Story Conference:  Healing Wounds Through Story
When:  Thursday, October 14th  to Saturday, October 16th, 2010
Where:  Metropolitan State College

This innovative conference is for Storytellers and those who work for Peace and Justice to share story and how we use story to support peace building and working for change.   This is a cross-fertilization of generations and those working with story --  to explore how to enrich each other’s work through the power of story.  Let’s build bridges between our work, learn together, communicate our successes, and showcase our story work:

  • Professional and Volunteer Storytellers sharing personal & traditional stories
  • Those working for Peace and Justice in a wide variety of settings
  • Anyone who wants to learn how to use story or gather more stories

If you tell stories and/or work with pre-school children and youth, adults and/or communities, please consider submitting a proposal.  We are also seeking sponsors, endorsements and volunteers for this conference – contact Susan Kaplan (303) 871-8469  kaplan@earthlink.net or Elizabeth Twomey (303) 758-1482 bessietwomey@yahoo.com

This conference is a collaboration between Rocky Mountain Storytellers’ Conference (www.rmstory.org/), and Journey Through Our Heritage, Metropolitan State College of Denver (www.mscd.ed/journey/), and is in conjunction with Conflict Resolution Month (www.conflictresolutionmonth.org/).  Here is an overview of the tracks and topics:
