Elizabeth J. Ordoñez

Professor Ordoñez received her B.A. and M.A. in Spanish Literature from the University of California, Los Angeles, and her Ph.D. from the University of California, Irvine. She is the author of numerous articles on nineteenth and twentieth century Spanish narrative. Professor Ordoñez has also authored studies in literary theory and Chicano literature. Her book on contemporary Spanish women's writing, titled Voices of Their Own: Contemporary Spanish Narrative by Women, was published by Bucknell University Press in 1991.

She was Professor of Spanish and Chair of the Foreign Languages Department at the University of Texas at Arlington before joining MSCD. Professor Ordoñez taught courses in literature and culture. She was Chair of the Department of Modern Languages from the Fall Semester 2001 to August, 2004.
