How to get an Oracle account

  • Login to the Rowdy server.

  • Type “addoracle” at the % prompt.

  • Logout of Rowdy and log back in again

  • At the % prompt, type “exec oraenv student”

  • At this point you will get a message indicating you have an Oracle environment

  • Type sqlplus

  • Login to Oracle using your username and the word “welcome” for your password.

  • Change your password by typing alter user (your username) identified by new-password; XXXXXX

    • Example:  To change my password to broncos I would type alter user username identified by new-password; broncos

  • To exit the program, type “quit” and press the Enter key.
