Metro State Wireless for Mac 802.1X Instructions
In OS X, connecting to a wireless network does not involve configuring theNetwork name (SSID) before being able to connect. Follow these steps toconnect to the 802.1x Wireless Networks:
Step 1 - Activate Airport

Verify that your Apple's Airport is activated by looking in the top rightsection of your screen.

If the Airport is disabled it will look like this:
, activate the device click on the icon and select Turn AirPort On as shown:

Step 2 - Open System Preferences
To open System Preferences, do one of the following:

Click on the System Preferences icon on the Dock

Click on the Apple logo on the top left corner of the screen > click on System Preferences on the drop down menu that appears.

Step 3 - Open the Network Preference Pane

In the System Preferences windows, click on Network icon under Internet & Wireless section

It will bring up the Network pane.

Step 4 - Enter the Advanced Menu

Click on the Advanced button

Click on 802.1x tab at the top to edit the 802.1x authentication information.

Step 5 - Create a new User Profile

Click on the "+" near the bottom of the pane > select Add User Profile.

Name the profile "WPA2: username" replacing "username" with your username.

Step 6 - Enter 802.1x Authentication Information

Enter your Admin Domain Username and Admin Domain Password.

Select the wireless network that you wish to connect to from the drop down box (if no networks appear, try turning the AirPort card off then on again).

Make sure PEAP and LEAP are the only options checked under Authentication

Make sure that under Security Type you select WPA2 Enterprise

Click OK.

Step 7 - Apply Settings and Connect to the Network

Click on Apply at the bottom of the pane

Select the network you just configured from the Network Name drop down box.

The AirPort card should begin to associate with the MetroState network and should be fully authenticated and connected within 15 seconds.
