Network jack to connect computer in SmartClassroom

How do I know which network jack to connect my computer to in the smart classrooms?

  • In an effort to enhance the students' learning environment, the Auraria Campus is in the process of remodeling shared classrooms. These new learning environments (called CIP classrooms) are equipped with phones, projectors, stereo systems with CD and cassette players, AM/FM radios, DVDs, VCRs, and network access jacks.
    • Metro enabled network access jack has a blue icon on it and has a big blue M beside it;

    • UCD is either black or yellow;

    • CCD is purple; the phone jack is always yellow.

  • The phone is active and can be used for modem connections to your local ISP.
  • In shared classrooms (like in the Plaza building) that are not CIP classrooms. In addition, you may use a non-shared classroom or a Metro only classroom which has only a phone jack and one data jack. Metro jacks are either the #3 (third) jack on the older jacks diagram or #4 (fourth) on the CIP jacks diagram, assuming that you count from left to right, top to bottom.
