Allison M. Cotton, Ph.D.
Associate Professor of Criminal Justice and Criminology
A Colorado native, Cotton actively advocates for diversity within the student body as well as among our faculty. Her extensive background in sociology serves her well as an effective educator and accomplished author, who has written several papers and two books on criminal justice topics.
Cotton has a deep appreciation for how much a MSU Denver education means to her students, many of who are first-generation undergrads. That’s why she conducts every class as more than just a “class”—they’re real-world lessons that incorporate current events and innovative technology while stressing professionalism and group interaction.
