A MSU Denver alumnus, Fresquez leads his painting protégés from personal experience, both his and theirs. For Fresquez, his internal fortitude more than made up for the lack of encouragement he received growing up in the ranches of southern Colorado. Now, after 22 years of selling his artwork all over the country, and even being exhibited in the Smithsonian, he provides inspiration to MSU Denver students searching to paint their own stories.
The spectrum of students he’s guided through the years is astounding—he’s taught everyone from 70-year-old retirees to 20-year-old newbies. And the only thing Fresquez revels in more than supporting their artistic pursuits is nurturing their individual aspirations for tomorrow.
