Born in Alaska, and raised in Colorado, guitarist Jeff Gleason holds a Master of Music in Guitar Performance from the University of Denver’s Lamont School of Music and a Bachelor of Music in Guitar Performance from Metropolitan State University of Denver. Former teachers include Ricardo Iznaola, Masa Ito, Jonathan Leathwood, and Alex Komodore. He has participated in master classes with Christopher Parkening, Paul Galbraith, Ricardo Cobo, David Russell, Manuel Barrueco, GFA winner Judicael Perroy, Stephen Aaron, Frank Koonce, and John Duarte, and was the third-place winner of the Denver Classical Guitar Society’s solo competition in 2009. He joined the MSU Denver Music guitar faculty in January of that year where he teaches guitar lessons and several sections of Class Guitar, and also maintains an active private guitar studio. He has performed throughout Colorado and the west, including in the Santa Fe Classical Guitar Festival and the Sierra Nevada Classical Guitar Festival.
