Betsy Schwarm Glesner is a historian who happens to know a thing or two about classical music, thanks to twenty years in classical radio, much of it on the original KVOD on Ruby Hill, and twenty years teaching music at Metropolitan State University of Denver. When one has several jobs simultaneously, one can add up years surprisingly quickly. She is a frequent pre-performance speaker for Opera Colorado and the Colorado Symphony, and writes program notes for organizations and soloists on four continents. Her recent clients include the Cleveland Orchestra, the Philharmonic Society of Orange County, the Huntsville Symphony, and Mainly Mozart of San Diego. She has recently published two collections of her program notes, “Classical Music Insights” and “Operatic Insights.”
