Bob Hall is the director of the MSU Denver African Drumming Ensemble. He has been an active performer and teacher of African Drumming in the Denver area for over 30 years. Following years of performing and studying with local groups and ensembles, he made a number of trips to Africa, studying traditional musics with the Les Ballets Africains and the Ballet Djoliba in Guinea, as well as with master drummers in Ghana and Senegal including Abdulaye Seidu and the Bamaya Ensemble. He has also worked with preeminent African musicians and ensembles at camps in New York and New Mexico. This past year he traveled to the Dominican Republic pursuing his interests in retracing the roots of African music throughout the Caribbean and South America. Bob is the founder and director of the Kusagea Nobi Drum Ensemble, which for the past 18 years has performed throughout Colorado and the United States at educational institutions and summer festivals.
