Since her stage debut at age four, Chinese pianist Hsing-ay Hsu (“Sing-I Shoo”) has been performing at such venues as Carnegie Hall and internationally. Her passionate interpretations have won her international recognition including the Juilliard Petschek Debut Award, William Kapell Int’l Competition, and the US Presidential Scholar of the Arts Award from President Clinton. Born in Beijing, Hsu studied at Juilliard and Yale. She is the Artistic Director for Pendulum New Music at CU-Boulder, faculty at Metropolitan State University of Denver, and creator/teacher of Conscious Listening Seminars. A Steinway Artist, she also performs in a trio with CSO principals Yumi Hwang and Silver Ainomae.
