Music Department Talent Award

Each area coordinator, in conjunction with the applied faculty, determines the award amount. Awards are one-time awards and are not automatically renewable. However, previous recipients are eligible to receive another award. Financial need is not a criterion for eligibility and applicants may not be eliminated from consideration because they have been awarded other forms of financial aid.

The eligibility criteria to apply for the scholarship are as follows:

  1. The applicant must be enrolled at Metropolitan State University of Denver for a minimum of 12 credit hours at the time of application.
  2. The applicant must be enrolled in a large performing ensemble.
  3. The applicant must have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher.
  4. The applicant must display exceptional performance qualities within the concentration area.

Students wishing to apply for a Music Department Talent Award must submit an application to MSU Denver Music Office by the advertised deadline. The area coordinators in conjunction with the applied faculty will select scholarship recipient(s). The chair of the scholarship committee will inform all applicants of their award status after a final determination is made by the scholarship committee. Recipients will be informed of the procedure to be used to receive their award.
