In addition to fostering academic excellence off the field, Metro State is proud of the hard work of student-athletes on the field. Since 2000, our teams have won four NCAA Division II national championships.
One of these champion Roadrunners is volleyball player Anna Mapes who balances her studies in civil engineering with a fierce blocking attack on the court. Ten years ago, Mapes found herself waging war against a dangerous eating disorder that threatened her life. But, these days, she’s a healthy and determined student-athlete whose biggest fans are her husband and two children.
