There’s a lot of ways you could spend $100. And, if you get in the habit of registering early, you can decide how to spend the fistful of cash you’ll save next spring.

At Metro State, we’re committed to making your college experience more convenient and more affordable. Starting this fall, we’re going to help you save money that you can spend on something that’s important to you.

It’s simple. Just register early for your spring 2009 classes and avoid a $100 late registration fee. Getting ahead on registering will also afford you the best selection of classes and allow you to build a schedule that works for you.

Here are a few suggestions if you’re at a loss for how to spend your $100!

Enjoy 33 Starbucks lattes for your morning commute.
Take yourself and a friend to see 7 of the latest and greatest movies before they hit the dollar theater — or take the same friend to 50 of the dollar movies. Whatever you decide!
Use it towards a textbook or two at the Auraria Campus Bookstore.
Get 400 quarters at the bank. Flash some good karma by feeding parking meters.
Take the Ski Train to the slopes and back, and still have cash for gear rental.
Eat a month’s worth of Taco Bell in one sitting.
Get inspired. Buy a student membership to that funky Denver Art Museum.
Jam out to 100 iTunes hits. (50 iTunes and a pair of noise canceling headphones for the Light Rail ride.)
Show Mom you care with a specially designed tattoo for your bicep.
Upgrade from the “Dirty Car Dandy” to the “Wash and Wax Works” for a year.
Indulge with 20 pints of Ben and Jerry’s Chunky Monkey ice cream.
Take three friends to a Metro State theater production and have a swank dinner after the show.
Wash and dry dozens of loads of dirty laundry.
Pay cash for two concert tickets and save yourself the 18 percent credit card interest.
Stash the cash for next semester’s tuition and fees.
Buy yourself a book on financial planning. Read the book, invest the money and watch your $100 grow.
You could get the oil changed in your car for an entire year.
Go on a rockin’ shopping spree at the dollar store.
Pay five of those pesky parking tickets.
Buy your Roadrunner fan gear and cheer the women’s soccer team to another victory.
Buy some serious foo foo for your favorite French poodle Fifi.
Relax after your final exams with an afternoon of pampering at the spa.
Wax poetic and send more than 600 text messages to your pals.
Grab your sunscreen and mitt and head to an afternoon Rockies game. With $100, you can pay for parking, sit in a good seat, AND still have money for a cold soda and a warm pretzel.
