WHAT/WHO: Exclusive preview of Christo and Jeanne-Claude exhibition for Democratic National Convention delegates. (news media invited)
WHAT/WHY: Metropolitan State College of Denver's Center for Visual Art (CVA) will host the Christo and Jeanne-Claude: Prints and Objects exhibition Aug. 29 through Nov. 1. This exclusive exhibition of 130 original works has not been seen in the United States since 1992 and features 30 new pieces. The exhibition will provide Coloradans a front-row seat to the artists’ work as they plan their ‘Over The River’ installation, slated for 2012 in Colorado’s Arkansas River Valley.
The exhibition includes a Sept. 18 free public lecture at the Temple Hoyne Buell Theatre, which Christo and Jeanne-Claude are presenting as a gift to the CVA. Due to the overwhelming response to attend the lecture, reservations are no longer being accepted.
