Session Overview

Adult Student Orientation

(Sessions offered for Spring, Summer and Fall Semesters)

Adult Student Orientation sessions are 3 hour sessions designed to meet the needs of first time to college students over the age of 22. Session information includes Academic Requirements, Financial Aid, Policies, and Student Support.

Family and Support Orientation

(Sessions Offered Concurrenly to The SOAR Experience)

Family and Support Orientation sessions run concurrently to The SOAR Experience and are desgined to help family members support their students as they transition to college. Session infomration includes Academic Requirements, Campus Safety, Support Strategies for Family Members, Financial Aid, and a Resource and Involvement Fair to connect with key offices and organizations on campus.

New Student Orientation

(Sessions offered for Spring and Summer Semesters)

New Student Orientation sessions are 4 hour sessions desgined to meet the needs of our first time to college students starting in the Spring and Summer semesters. Session information includes Academic Requirements, Financial Aid, Policies, Campus Resources, and growing Roadrunner PRIDE!

Online Orientation

(Sessions offered for Spring and Summer Semesters)

Online Orientation is offered ONLY to transfer students. Online orientation encompasses the same information as a Transfer Student Orientation session in an online format. Online orientation consists of 9 modules students need to read and then pass the Final Review with an 8/9 or better to successfully complete Online Orientation.

The SOAR Experience

(Sessions offered for Fall Semester)

The SOAR Experience is a day long all encompassing orientation session for first time to college students. Session information includes Academic Advising and Course Registration, Financial Aid, Tips for Academic Success, Policies, Spirit and Traditions, and Opportunities for Involvement on campus. (Please see Family and Support Orientation as an addition session to The SOAR Experience.)

Transfer Student Orientation

(Sessions offered for Spring, Summer and Fall Semesters)

Transfer Student Orientation sessions are 3 hour sessions desgined to meet the needs of our students transferring to Metro State. Session information includes Academic Requirements, Financial Aid, Policies, and Student Support.
