About Online Courses
If you are considering taking an online course for the first time, you may be wondering what to expect and if an online course is a good choice for you. We would like to help you make an informed decision by providing you with information about online learning at Metro State.
Before registering for your first online course, we suggest that you learn more about what an online course is and then assess whether online learning is right for you. You may even want to take a self-assessment to determine if you have the personal characteristics and technical knowledge you will need to do well in an online course.
Getting Started
If you would like to register for one or more online courses, please review the information about registration. For course descriptions and information about prerequisites, see the MSUDenver College Catalog. If you aren't sure which courses to register for, the Academic Advising office can help you determine which online courses will fulfill the requirements of your chosen degree program.
After you have registered for your online course, it is suggested that you learn about Blackboard Vista (Metro State's course management system) before logging in to your course for the first time. Metro provides free Blackboard Vista Training to teach you how to navigate and interact in the Blackboard Vista learning environment. It is also very important to verify that your computer meets all of the neccesary technical requirements before your online class begins.
