Is Online Learning for You?
Students must be self-directed and motivated to be successful online learners, because they must carefully manage their time to keep up with the course requirements. Additionally, the lack of face-to-face interaction between the instructor and students affects how the course materials are presented, how communication takes place, how student learning is assessed, as well as the overall learning experience. Many students enjoy learning in an online environment, but it is not for everyone. Learning Styles
t takes a special individual to get the most out of online learning. Being an active learner - one who's willing to shape one's life and direct one's studies - is an important attribute. Being a visual learner, who is able to learn easily from reading and writing, is another big plus. If you learn best by hearing the instructor, then you may want to reconsider whether classroom learning might not be a better option for you. It is also important to be flexible and adaptable because learning in an online environment may present unique challenges.
