Metropolitan State University of Denver’s Office of Sponsored Research and Programs is governed by the policies and procedures as adopted by the Metropolitan State University of Denver Board of Trustees. These policies and procedures relate to proposals and contracts that are entered into by the University, in accordance with either a mandated arrangement with a government agency (i.e. indirect cost rate agreements) or directives of the Board (i.e. ICR distribution, remuneration, etc.)

The Human Subjects Review Committee (HSRC), is registered with the Office of Human Research Protections (OHRP) within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The Human Subjects Review Committee was established by the Provost's Office in 1994 with two primary charges:

1. To offer advice to researchers regarding protection of rights and welfare of all human subjects, and
2. To review research proposals using human subjects to ensure that they meet OHRP Guidelines for the Protection of Human Subjects.

Request for Proposals (RFPs) involving human subjects are required to submit their proposal to the HSRC for review prior to submission. Please contact the HSRC with any questions.

Committee review is limited to research and training programs conducted under the auspices of MSU Denver or involving MSU Denver employees or students. In addition, the committee is to maintain currency with regard to federal requirements for the protection of human subjects and to modify review procedures and forms as needed.
