The meaning of the term "METROLEADER"
Ownership, partnership, collaboration, and accountability are four strategic foundational values upon which the METROLEADS leadership growth process is built. Every active participant is called a "METROLEADER."
The term "METROLEADER" implies an equal and distributive ownership of responsibility toward the program. The value of partnership balances responsibility and is a clear alternative to the traditional top down, hierarchical model. It is the commitment to partnership and collaboration that gives meaning to the concept of group accountability.
In METROLEADS, our goal is to recognize and honor the interdependence of the parties and replace direction with shared governance. Being in partnership as a METROLEADER is the opposite of hierarchy and the term METROLEADER acknowledges our absolute interdependence.
METROLEADS employs the values of ownership, partnership, collaboration and accountability to more actively, freely, creatively and fully engage METROLEADERS to maximize and reach their leadership potential.
