Cost and Financial Aid

Even with our affordable tuition rates and action-packed value for every dollar, Metro State understands that the financial commitment to college sometimes isn’t an easy one. That’s why our staff proactively connects you with resources to help—federal aid (grants, loans) work-study jobs, private scholarships or nearly 1,500 scholarships awarded by the College.

Scholarships are not one size fits all.
Look for both need- and merit-based scholarships awarded for:

  1. Area of study (like nursing, Spanish or poly sci)
  2. Diversity (like the Boettcher Opportunity Award)
  3. Transfer Students (President's Academic Achievement Award for Transfer Students)
  4. Special talent (like playing the guitar or something else unique)
  5. Year of study (freshman, sophomore, etc.)

And, don’t forget the College Opportunity Fund stipend, which contributes a set amount per credit hour enrolled for students who qualify for in-state tuition.

Metro State just got more affordable!
With Metro State’s new tuition structure, you’ll pay the same amount in tuition for classes on the Auraria Campus whether you’re taking 12, 15 or 18 credit hours.
