- Supporting your success

Faculty
Metro State’s faculty members never treat teaching like a secondary activity in favor of pet projects or research. Teaching is their primary focus. They make sure you understand and can use what you study.
Just like you, our professors enjoy all the benefits of:
- Active, real-time scholarship and professional engagement
- Personal relationships, thanks to classes of 19 (not 200) students
Metro State delivers a relevant education to you and every other student through a perfect blend of theoretical and practical learning. Of course, we achieve this goal through:
- Field-study requirements
- Network contacts to jobs and internships
- Hands-on lab or classroom work
- Real-world case studies addressing everyday issues
- Guest speakers and events where off-campus experts join our learning community
Plus, our faculty include both:
- Career professors (nearly 70 percent of whom hold a Ph.D. or terminal degree in their fields from top universities)
- Leading professionals from many career fields, who bring valuable real-life experience directly to you
All told, our committed community of full-time professors totals:
- 213 tenured
- 155 tenure-track
- 139 visiting
