The Psychology Journal Club

The purpose of the Psychology Journal Club is to allow students with an interest in psychology and related fields to gather and discuss recent original research. The club also provides opportunities for students to interact with professionals in psychology through sponsored lectures and visits to research and clinical facilities. All members and attendees of the club are invited to submit suggestions for articles and topics of interest.

The meetings are informal and everyone is encouraged to participate with opinions and thoughts on the articles that are read. By participating in the club, students gain valuable experience in reading and analyzing original research in a casual environment. This experience will benefit students who intend to pursue graduate study or a career in research. It will also improve analytical skills and critical evaluation of research in the popular press.

Membership to the Psychology Journal Club is free and open to all students and alumni of The Metropolitan State University of Denver, University of Colorado, and the Community College of Denver with an interest in the field of psychology. Meetings are held once every two weeks at a date and time that is convenient for most people in the group. Currently, meetings are held on Monday evenings at 6 PM.
