Frequently Asked Questions

Assessment

Do I need to take the assessments tests? When are they offered?

Office of Assessment and Specialized Testing, Tivoli Student Union, Room 347, 303-556-3677.

Many entry-level General Studies courses at MSCD have an assessment pre-requisite. The assessment tests are tools that help your advisor assist you in selecting classes most appropriate for your academic needs.

All first-time students area required to take the assessment tests unless you have completed an ACT exam in the last two years with a subscore at or above 23 in English, 24 in mathematics, or 24 in reading. All students may need to take a writing, mathematics, and/or reading assessment test.

If you are a transfer student, consult with your advisor about which of the assessment test you may be required to take.
