True Colors – Scholars will participate in the True Colors personality assessment by which they will gain information and insights about their full spectrum of True Colors traits. They will learn about their personality style and how it affects their interactions with others. Scholars can use this information to strengthen communication, reduce conflicts, and increase overall effectiveness.

DSF Welcome – DSF Scholars who are first-time participants in the Metro Scholars Program will take part in activities to re-frame and prepare for the beginning of the semester. Scholars will learn about the specific requirements related to their scholarship and spend time engaging in fun team-building activities with Metro Scholars Program staff.

Food For Thought (Fridays from 7:30-9:30am)
- Dates: January 18, February 15, March 8, April 19, May 3
- Location: MSU Denver Hospitality Learning Center (on the corner of Auriaria Prkwy and Speer Blvd) - First floor loading dock.
- Volunteer Work: Volunteers will help fill “Power Sacks” which are grocery bags that contain enough non-perishable food to feed a DPS family of 4 for the entire weekend. Jobs will include:
· Unloading food from the delivery truck
· Loading “Power Sacks”
· Placing filled power sacks into bins
· Reloading the truck for deliveries
April 12th, 2013 (Friday) 10:00am–2:00pm Tiv444
- Thunder Ridge Middle School Event – 70 Middle school students will come to Metro State for the day and receive information from scholars and staff on what college life is like. A variety of fun activities are planned for the day. Approximately 9 Scholars will be needed to assist with this activity.
