Miri K. Chung, Ph.D.
Associate Professor of Educational Technology Department of Teacher Education
Dr. Miri Chung is the technology expert in the Education Department. She teaches Educational Technology courses for teaching education. In addition to her instructional classes in the Department of Education, Miri also keeps the MSU Denver faculty current on their technology needs. For example, she has taught a workshop on how to use Smart Board to faculty members from various disciplines.
Miri is dedicated to teaching the diverse students in her department. Having grown up in South Korea, Miri has a unique perspective as an international faculty member and is eager to help students and new faculty who are adjusting to a new environment.
Outside of work, Miri is actively involved in the Denver American Korean community. She teaches Korean to second-generation Koreans, she volunteers to transport Korean elders to medical appoints, and helps with English translation when needed. Miri has also been a judge for the National Korean Association writing contest for Korean children.
MSU Denver has an environment that is very welcoming. The Department and the university embrace people of different cultures. I like the fact that people are from different backgrounds and of different ages here. Denver has a balance of a city: the metro area has some rural areas, and a mix of urban and suburban. You really get everything.
