Personal Biography Statement

Catherine Alber has taught in the MSCD English Department for 5 years and also tutors in the MSCD Writing Center. Prior to this she taught at CU-Denver and spent 5 years as chair of Language Arts at Colorado High School Charter.

She has a BFA in Theater Arts from Drake University and an MA in English Literature from CU.

Publications include poetry in several literary journals, including Calyx, The Coe Review, The Amherst Review, Fox Cry Review and Artisan.
In addition, Catherine has a black belt in the martial art of Te Da Kuen Do. She teaches children’s Tae Kwan Do and self-defense at Mike Giles Family Karate and in area public schools.

She is married and has 2 children, and lives in Denver.
