Personal Biography Statement

After receiving my doctorate from Columbia University in medieval literature, I first taught at Wagner College on Staten Island. I've been part of the MSCD English Department for fourteen years and have served as its Chair since 2007.

I've posted my office hours; there is no need to make an appointment. Nevertheless, I recommend emailing me at least 24 hours in advance,especially if you are making a special trip to campus, because I may be elsewhere on campus for a meeting during those hours. You can make an appointment, too, by getting touch with the main English office at 63211.

Current Projects

My current research projects include the use Chaucer makes of the Latin poets he has read and loved. As a follow up to the text I co-edited with Dr. Kuhn, Styling Texts, I am looking at skin as text--through tattoos, piercings, or paintings.
