Personal Biography Statement

Let me introduce myself. I am Dr. Tony Wolusky and I enjoy teaching criminal justice classes for Metro State a great deal. I have 20 years legal experience as a deputy district attorney, defense attorney, advisor to American military leaders in the U.S. and overseas, and as a military judge advocate.

I have taught Criminal Procedure, Substantive Criminal Law, Juvenile Law, Constitutional Law, and other courses at Metro State.

Educational Biography

Along with my JD from Golden Gate University in San Francisco, I have an MEd (Counseling), an MA (International Relations) and I am working on my Ph.D. in Online Education.

I am licensed to practice law in Colorado and California.

Personal

I was raised in Boston, but left there in 1976 to join the Air Force and see the world. After graduating from the Air Force Academy, I served as an Intercontinental Ballistic Missile Launch Officer during the height of the Cold War, then taught political science and military law at St. Michael's College, Winooski, Vermont, as an AFROTC instructor. I then elected to go into the Reserves as an intelligence officer while attending law school in San Francisco. I became a Deputy DA in San Bernardino, California, after law school, but decided to go back into the active duty Air Force as a JAG and went to Germany.

Personal

Over the next 14 years as a JAG (it really is just like the TV show, not), I served as a prosecutor as well as a defense attorney, ultimately racking up 35 trials for offenses up to premeditated murder. I?ve served across the US, as well as in Germany, Saudi Arabia, Korea and Bosnia, but am glad to be back in Colorado. I was lucky to return to the Air Force Academy as an Associate Professor of Law and later as a senior legal advisor to the Superintendent. I retired from active duty in 2004 and am very glad to have this chance to share my experiences in the trenches of criminal law with all of you.

I am also a trail runner and have run the Pikes Peak Ascent 3 years in a row.
