Personal Biography Statement
Heather is Assistant Professor of Art History, Theory and Criticism in the MSCD Art Department. She has a PhD in Art History from UCLA where she specialized in the art of the Italian Renaissance with a secondary area of study in African art. Heather's primary research interests concern notions of gender, religion, the emotions and the body as related to art and visual culture. She employs an interdisciplinary approach to teaching visual art, integrating aspects of social and theological history, gender studies, medical history, psychology, anthropology, literary criticism and philosophy.
