Personal Biography Statement
Born in Ethiopia in 1966, Tsehai Johnson received degrees from Reed College, (BA Art History) Massachusetts College of Art (BFA Ceramics), and the University of Colorado (MFA Ceramics). Exhibitions include Plus Gallery, Denver; Biennale Internationale de Vallauris, Magnelli Museum, France; Denver Art Museum, White Columns, New York; Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art; and the World Ceramic Biennale, Korea. Collections include the Museum of Ceramics, New York; Museum of Outdoor Arts, Colorado; and the Reyzjanesbaer Art Museum, Iceland. She received a Colorado Council on the Arts fellowship and several residences and was awarded an Art in Architecture commission for the Rogers Federal Building in Denver.
