Personal Biography Statement

I teach the history of Medieval England, Medieval Europe, Europe and Western Civilizations to 1603. I am from the Denver area and have taught at Metro for ten years. Teaching under the shadow of the mountains is truly the best place to be!

Teaching Philosophy

I enjoy helping students discover the rich vagaries of historical study and believe my goal as an instructor is to encourage critical thinking and coherent writing skills, all while bringing the stories of the past alive.

Research Areas/Interests

My research interests include the intersections between gender and intellectual history, with a particular focus on women and their impact on historical writing.

Other

Advising: I do History Major/Minor advising. Please email me to set an appointment or drop by my office during the times listed.

Current Projects

I am co-chair of Feminist First Fridays, a forum for presenting and discussing feminist research and creative works-in-progress across disciplines. We meet the first Friday of the months during the Fall/Spring academic year.
