Personal Biography Statement
Laura is an Assistant Professor of Theatre in Costume Design and Technology. She also manages the costume shop for the Theatre Department and designs and paints scenery for some departmental productions. Since moving to Denver in 1982 , Laura has worked as a designer ,technician, and teacher throughout the Rocky Mountain region. She has designed scenery and costumes for over 90 productions for numerous theatres and universities in Colorado and Utah. Laura has held faculty and adjunct faculty positions in both scenic and costume design at the University of Denver, University of Colorado at Boulder and Weber State University and has worked for several local theatrical suppliers. Laura is actively involved in the United States Institute for Theatre Technology, serving as a Director-at-Large from 2000-2003 and as Section Chair, Secretary and Vice Chair for Outreach for the Rocky Mountain region . She received her BFA in Theatre Design from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland and her MFA in Theatre Design from Southern Methodist University in Dallas.
