Personal Biography Statement

For as long as I can remember, I have been interested in understanding how people are shaped by the worlds in which they live and encounter. At the same time, I have also wondered how individuals influence changes in their life-worlds. Sociologically minded from a young age, I pursued an education that lead me to a career in higher education.

Sociological theory, research methods, and practice serve as the basic components of substantive courses I teach and my projects that engage my attention and efforts.
