Personal Biography Statement
I'm a mother of two wonderful boys who keep me running from music lessons to hockey games to meetings of the Civil Air Patrol. Beyond my husband, children, and teaching, I love singing, reading, riding bikes, and hiking.
Educational Biography
I received my Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Metropolitan State College. From there I completed a Master's Degree and Ph.D. in Behavioral Neuroscience from the University of Colorado-Boulder. I have been teaching part-time, temporary, or full-time at Metro since 1992.
Research Areas/Interests
While graduate school found me doing research on brain and body interactions, I find doing that type of research at Metro is very difficult. My attention has turned to doing research on teaching effectiveness and improving learner outcomes. I assist charter schools around the state writing grants, performing program assessment, and training faculty, staff, and board members.
