Personal Biography Statement

I completed my undergraduate degree work and earned a BS in Sport and Exercise Science from the University of Northern Colorado, in Greeley, CO; GO BEARS! My professional experiences include time spent at the University of Denver in the School of Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Management and several other hospitality related management positions before switching to the higher education field in 2006. I earned a MA in Higher Education from the University of Denver in 2010.

I am currently the Assistant Director of Student Activities. In my role, I oversee a team that helps to put on many of the campus programs & events that happen here at Auraria, supervise a graphics design team that markets and promotes our events and our office, and also supervise our office’s IT support staff member. On campus, I am the President of the Council of Administrators, serve on a variety of campus committees and am a METROLEADS Alum.

Nationally, I serve as the Technology Knowledge Community (KC) Representative for the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA) IV-W region, and was elected this year to the post of National Technology KC Chair-Elect. I believe it is extremely important to be engaged with professional organizations in our respective fields. I am excited about finding ways that we enhance what we do each day on our campus through technology. This makes us more streamlined, often more efficient, and in many cases allows us to serve more students. In addition to my NASPA membership, I am also a member of the American College Personnel Association (ACPA).

My wife Trisha and I live in Aurora, CO with our daughter Ainsley. We love to camp and be outdoors, Colorado is a great back yard!
