Personal Biography Statement

Michelle has a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology & Human Services from Fort Lewis College (1994) and a Masters in Social Work with a concentration in Children, Youth & Families from the University of Denver (1998). Michelle has been employed with Arapahoe County Department of Human Services since 1995. Michelle's career focus has been in Child Protection Intake, working as a intake screener on the Crisis Hotline, an intake unit Case Aide, an intake caseworker investigating child abuse/neglect, a supervisor of the Crisis Hotline and Emergency Duty Services unit and as a supervisor of a child protection intake caseworker unit. Michelle is now the Child Protection Intake Administrator, overseeing 7 intake supervisors, 36 caseworkers, 9 hotline screeners and 9 on call caseworkers.

Michelle has been an affiliate professor with Metropolitan State University of Denver since January 2010. She enjoys this arena and thrives on sharing her knowledge and experience with others.
