Personal Biography Statement
My partner, Stephanie, and I have been married since 1983 and we have one daughter, Rosemary, born in 1991. We have lived in Southern California, Oregon, Southern Indiana, and now Denver.

Educational Biography
Maurice Hamington holds a PhD in Philosophy from the University of Oregon; a PhD in Religion and Social Ethics from the University of Southern California; a Graduate Certificate in Women's Studies from the University of Southern California; a MA in Philosophy from the University of Oregon; a MA in Religious Studies from Mount St. Mary's College; and, an MBA from the University of Southern California.

Research Areas/Interests
Maurice Hamington is the author of The Social Philosophy of Jane Addams (University of Illinois Press, 2009) Embodied Care: Jane Addams, Maurice Merleau-Ponty, and Feminist Ethics (University of Illinois Press, 2004), and Hail Mary? The Struggle for Ultimate Womanhood in Catholicism (Routledge, 1995).

He is also the editor of Feminist Interpretations of Jane Addams (Penn State Press, 2010 and co-editor of Socializing Care: Feminist Ethics and Social Issues (Rowman & Littlefield, 2006) and Revealing Male Bodies (Indiana University Press, 2002)

Research interests include feminist philosophy and care ethics in particular as well as American Philosophy and applied ethics.

Professional Affiliations
Maurice Hamington is a member of the American Philosophical Association, the Society for the Advancement of American Philosophy, the Radical Philosophy Association, and the Philosophy of Education Society.

He is on the Editorial Board of Feminist Formations (formerly the National Women's Studies Association Journal).
