Personal Biography Statement
Christy Montour-Larson has directed over 75 productions from Shakespeare to Pinter to musicals to the newest works in America.
As a member of the Artistic Company at Curious Theatre Company, Christy has directed RED (Henry Award for Best Play and Best Director), 9 CIRCLES (Henry Nomination for Best Play, Best Director) A NUMBER, RABBIT HOLE (Denver Post Ovation Nomination and Marlowe Award for Best Director.) I AM MY OWN WIFE (Henry Nomination for Best Director), TRUMBO: RED, WHITE & BLACKLISTED, PROOF (Marlowe Award for Best Director), and FUDDY MEERS (Denver Post Ovation Award & Marlowe Award for Best Director)
Her work has also been seen locally at The Denver Center Theatre Company (THE GIVER, WELL, Denver Post Ovation Nomination for Best Play, Best Director) The Arvada Center for the Performing Arts (CABARET, ALL SHOOK UP), Town Hall Arts Center (CRIMES OF THE HEART, ALWAYS PATSY CLINE), PHAMALY (THE DIVINERS) and Paragon Theatre (MOJO). IN 2009 and 2011 she was nominated by the Denver Post for Theater Person of the Year.
Nationally, she has directed at the Rochester Civic Theatre, where she served as Artistic/Executive Director New American Theatre, TheatreWorks, The Duluth Playhouse, Dark Horse Theatre and the Seven Devils Playwright Conference, where she sits on the Board of Directors.
An Affiliate Faculty Member at Metro State since 2001, she has taught Stage Directing, Acting I, Improvisation Techniques and Stage Movement. At Metro State she has directed NICKEL AND DIMED, MOTHER COURAGE, THE LARAMIE PROJECT and THE WAITING ROOM.
In 2012, she was inducted into the Promethean Society at the University of Minnesota, Duluth.
Current Projects
Christy is looking forward to teaching a Meisner workshop at the Denver Center Theatre Academy in February 2013.

BFA in Theatre at the University of Minnesota, Duluth.
MFA in Directing at Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University
Meisner Technique under William Esper and Maggie Flanagin.
