Personal Biography Statement
|
Christy Montour-Larson has directed over 60 productions from Shakespeare to Pinter to musicals to the newest works in America. As a Company Member of Curious Theatre Company, she as directed FUDDY MEERS (Denver Post Ovation Award & Marlowe Award for Best Director), PROOF (Marlowe Award for Best Director), TRUMBO and I AM MY OWN WIFE (Colorado Theatre Guild Nomination for Best Director)and RABBIT HOLE. Also in Denver, she has directed at the Denver Center Theatre Company, Arvada Center, Paragon Theatre Ensemble, Mizel Arts Center and Town Hall Arts Center. Nationally, she has directed at the Seven Devils Playwright Conference, New American Theatre, TheatreWorks, The Duluth Playhouse, Dark Horse Theatre and Rochester Civic Theatre, where she served as Artistic Director. Christy received her MFA in Directing at Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University where she studied Meisner Technique under William Esper and Maggie Flanagin. An Affiliate Faculty Member at Metro State since 2001, she has taught Stage Directing, Acting I, Improvisation Techniques and Stage Movement.
