Personal Biography Statement
Dr. Nees is a Professor of Criminal Justice and Criminology and has instructed at Metro State since 1996 (1998 full-time). He is a graduate of Metro State.
He worked in the criminal Justice system for over 30 years. Starting as a police officer, serving in all ranks and retiring as a police chief. He then directed the the largest community corrections program (county operated) in Colorado.
Dr. Nees holds the folloowing degrees: a Bachelors in History and Economics from Northern Arizona University, Flagstaff, Arizona; a Bachelors in Criminal Justice and Criminology from Metropolitan State College of Denver; a Masters in Public Administration from the Univeristy of Northern Colorado; a Masters in Criminal Justice from the University of Colorado; and a Doctorate in Public Administration from the University of Colorado.
