Kenneth R. Phillips Bio Kenneth R. Phillips is the recently appointed Department Chair for the Industrial Design Department at Metropolitan State College of Denver (MSCD). Ken has been the primary Design for Production, Furniture Design, and Woodworking faculty person in the program for many years. Ken is one of the developers of Brand Spankin’ New (BSN) the student centered business that runs out of the Industrial Design and Marketing departments and the Metro State Center for Innovation. Professor Phillips holds a BA and MA in anthropology from the University of Northern Colorado. He also has a BS in Industrial Technology from MSCD and an MS in Manufacturing Technology from Colorado State University. Mr. Phillips has served on the full time faculty at MSCD for eight years after many years as an adjunct faculty. Ken has over twenty-five years of experience as a furniture and cabinetry designer/maker.
