Personal Biography Statement
Lorraine Scott has been involved in many areas of theatre for over 30 years. Originally from Kalamazoo she attended the Academy of Dramatic Arts in Rochester Michigan, holds a B. A. in theatre from Western Michigan University, and a M.F.A. in Directing from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. She has been teaching, administrating, directing, and performing in the Denver area for the last 20 years. For the past six years she has been the Director/Actor Coordinator for the Playwrights Showcase of the Western Region. More recently Lorraine acted in two films for Yoga Productions – “Flat Dog Dreams” and “The Race Walker”. Last fall she played the role of Muriel in the premiere of “Muriel’s Memoirs” at the 73rd Avenue Theatre and currently she is directing “A Woman Alone…and Other Stories” at the 73rd Avenue to open in June. She will also assist in the directing of “On Golden Pond” this summer at the Vintage Theatre where she serves as a Board Member and is also the Colorado Representative to the Rocky Mountain Theatre Association.
