Personal Biography Statement

Scott Sherwood is a Sales Professional in Residence for the Department of Marketing at Metropolitan State University of Denver. His educational background includes a Masters of Business Administration from UCD, a BS in Applied Mathematics from UCD, and a BA in Anthropology from MSU Denver. He teaches Business Communication (on ground and online), Principles of Marketing (on ground and online), International Marketing, Personal Selling, Sales Management, Business-to-Business Marketing, Sport Sales, Marketing ROI and Pricing, and Advanced Selling. He has also taught at the Community College of Denver, both for the Business and Developmental Mathematics departments.

He is currently developing a Sales Center at MSU where students will be trained for professional sales positions with businesses in the Denver area. He has developed a Sport Sales Workshop, held each November, where students are trained and interviewed by professional sport franchises such as the Denver Nuggets, Colorado Avalanche, Denver Broncos, Colorado Mammoth, Colorado Rapids, Denver Outlaws, Portland Trailblazers, Sacramento Kings, Phoenix Suns, Arizona Diamondbacks, and San Diego Padres.

His professional career includes 35 years of sales, management, and marketing in the integrated circuit industry for distributors, manufacturer's reps, and an OEM, Cypress Semiconductor. As the worldwide account manager for Hewlett Packard at Cypress, he developed global business relationships and managed an international sales force. His college teaching career started at MSU Denver in 2004.
