Personal Biography Statement

I was formally trained in Physics, which I also taught at the college level. As a result, my approach to learning and teaching Yoga is based on logic and science. After I studied with several internationally known yoga teachers, I discovered I had a deep need to understand the principles of Yoga rather than just perform the most advanced poses. As a result, I chose to study with Satyananda School of Yoga, which is based on combining the traditional approach and modern science. They emphasize practice of physical poses, breathing exercises, yogic relaxation as well as theory of yogic philosophy and psychology. I implement those fundamental principles in my teaching philosophy.
