Personal Biography Statement

I started work in the Department of Communication Arts and Sciences at Metropolitan State University of Denver in August of 2011. Before that, I was a tenured faculty member for 21 years at the University of Colorado Denver in the Communication Department. My Ph.D.is in Interpersonal Communication from the University of Illinois in Champaign (1988).I specialize in friendships between females and males, with a broader interest in gender issues. I am divorced with three children, ages 11, 16, and 20.

My most recent conference presentation was at the IARR Conference in Chicago, Illinois. The paper's title was "Paradigm Shifting and Postmodern Cross-Gender Relationships." July 14, 2012
