Dr Shawn C Worthy

Personal Biography Statement

Dr. Worthy is currently an Associate Professor of the Human Services at The Metropolitan State College of Denver. He obtained his doctorate in clinical psychology from Northern Illinois University in the discipline of clinical psychology. Dr. Worthy has served as the Chair of the Human Service Department, as well as the Interim Vice President of the Student Services Division at the Metropolitan State College of Denver.

As a faculty member Dr. Worthy has several research interests. He maintains a line of research related to sports psychology and does consulting in that area. He has conducted research on domestic violence, teen suicide and other issues related to children and families. Dr Worthy has worked clinically with adults and teens infected with HIV.

Dr. Worthy currently serves on several community boards and commissions, which focus on youth and violence. In addition, he has served as an expert on psychological and family issues to numerous print, radio, and television media outlets.
