Personal Biography Statement
Hello. My name is Kevin Zeiler and I’m currently working as an assistant professor in the Health Care Management program at Metro State. I am committed to helping students within the department succeed both academically and professionally. I’m very pleased with the courses that are offered by the department, and it is my hope that I’m able to use these courses to provide a learning environment that promotes awareness, insight and a practical approach to health care today. I was fortunate enough to gain insight into the health care industry by working in numerous capacities in both the clinical and managerial sides of the business. The years I spent as a paramedic have proven to be an invaluable experience that has allowed me to better understand health care from the provider’s point of view as well as provide a valuable service to the community. I’m hopeful that I will be able to pass that knowledge and experience on to the students that I serve. In my leisure time I enjoy hiking, climbing and skiing in the mountains of our wonderful state. I also enjoy spending time with my wife, our children and grandchildren.

Teaching Philosophy
In higher education,I believe that we need to have an open and honest forum that allows us to share our learned knowledge as well as our personal opinions regarding the subject matter. Students will thrive in an environment where the learning is more collaborative in nature and ideas are allowed to flow freely. Furthermore, trust is tantamount to the educational experience, so I attempt to instill this ideal in each of my students so that we can open the doors to learning without feeling that our ideas and opinions are merely afterthoughts. Without opinions and ideas there is no learning, so my goal is to involve and engage each and every student so that they will realize their full potential.
