The Runners Program is an extension of the Student Government Assembly and is composed of student volunteers who enrich our campus. These volunteers inform the student body of issues and events on campus, as well as collecting student input through surveys. Through the surveys, Student Government works on the issues and advocates on behalf of the students. Runners boost school pride, encourage their peers to become aware and active on campus and help the student voice be heard.
How it Works
Every week Runners read a one to two minute script to their classes to inform their peers of upcoming events, how-to’s, did-you-know’s, and issues at Metro. Then, at the end of every month, Runners distribute a survey to collect student input on various topics. Aside from that, Runners accumulate points by attending events on campus, as well as doing the weekly updates and monthly surveys. In return for their involvement, Runners are given monthly and semester prizes to show appreciation.
