Connecting To Secure Wi-Fi on a PC

♦Connect to the Auraria Campus Wi-Fi

♦Open your browser and go to the following webpage:

     metrostatewireless.msudenver.edu

♦The introduction page will open, explaining what the wizard will do

♦Click on End-User License Agreement to read the agreement

♦When you have read and agreed to the terms and conditions, close the window and back in the Welcome To Our Secure Wireless Service window, check the box next to I accept the terms of the End-User License Agreement

♦Click Start

♦XpressConnect will begin loading

♦A security window may open, if it does, click Run.

♦The XpressConnect Wizard will open in  a new window

♦You will then be asked to enter your credentials. 

- If you are faculty or staff, use your admin username and password. 

- If you are a student, use your academic username and password (The same as ConnectU)

♦ Click Continue


♦The XpressConnect Wizard will the automatically go through the next steps as it verifies the computer’s configuration, connects to the network, and validates the connectivity

 


 ♦When it is finished you will be alerted that the connection was successful, and your browser will automatically open to the Metropolitan State University of Denver’s homepage


Connecting to Secure Wi-Fi on a Mac

♦Connect to the Auraria Campus Wi-Fi

♦Open your browser and go to the following webpage:

   metrostatewireless.msudenver.edu

♦The introduction page will open, explaining what the wizard will do

♦Click on End-User License Agreement to read the agreement

♦When you have read and agreed to the terms and conditions, close the window and back in the Welcome To Our Secure Wireless Service window, check the box next to I accept the terms of the End-User License Agreement

 

♦Click Start

♦The XpressConnect Wizard will open

♦Select the network you wish to join

-If you are faculty or staff, select Faculty and Staff Test_MetroStateSecure

-If you are a student, select Students Test_MetroStateSecure

♦Click Continue

♦A window will open indicating that the Network Wizard wants to make changes, enter your username and password

-If you are using a school computer you will enter your credentials, either administrative or academic.

-If you are using your personal computer, you will enter your username and password for your computer.

♦Click OK when you are done


♦In the Configure step, you will be notified that in order to access the secured network, SafeConnect must be installed onto your computer. Below that is a list of information that SafeConnect will collect from your computer when you connect to the Wi-Fi

♦Click Install


♦The Mac Installer will automatically open, this will walk you through the installation process

-Under the Introduction step > click  Continue

-Under the Destination Select step > select the disk where you want to install the software > click Continue

-Under the Installation Type step, click Install

♦You will be asked to type your username and password for your computer

-Note: If you are downloading this on a school computer, you must have administrative rights for that computer

♦Click Install Software when you are done

 

♦The installation process will finish, click Close

♦ Back in the XpressConnect window, the Wizard will automatically take you through the Authenticate and Validate Connectivity steps


♦When it is finished, you will get a message notifying you that you have successfully connected, click Done
